<future>

While written to be a standalone story, I'd be very interested in expanding the world and continuing the journey of the Wolfhound and her new charges.

I plan on making more comics in the future, either in a similar scope to this or as multi-chaptered stories.

WITCH-SONS

type: novella

Team: Solo

Production Length:

Date Released:

Goal/Brief:

Gallrey is old and no longer knows if the ocean will still outlive him. The fish are swimming further out to sea, and it’s never been harder to be a captain of a fishing vessel. If he doesn’t meet the season’s quota he loses all an old fisherman could with nothing left over. He’s desperate enough to take on a crew of witch-sons - the inhuman offspring of the witches he killed years and years ago.

blah blah its novella short story or whatever. fiction type. genre. basic project parameters or f that?

You can read the full story here.

“Dead witches but they’re still f***ing us over.”

The thing was standing near the entrance of the docklands, stock still as it watched the few boats that were unloading cargo. Most gave a wide berth around it, some spat at its feet.

It was hard to tell exactly what made the witch-sons so inhuman, so twisted and ugly and wholly undivine. Their bones don’t burn like the ones of their mothers, hissing and fuming in the ashes.

They looked like ordinary young men, no inherited malformities or monstrous stretched features like the creatures that used to claw their way onto the ships. But they were always too clean, with flawless skin and crisp unstained clothing. Nothing in this world was that clean. Blank expressions, straight postures and backlit eyes that glow in the dark.

Where there was one, there would be more. They clustered like rats, that way.

<future>

“‘They will reap what they have wrought.’ That’s what my mother always used to say.”

“Is that what you want to do, get revenge?”

It writhes in its skin.

“I would like to be a fisherman.”

It’s a doomed profession. The fish are leaving. The seas are drying up. In twenty years there won’t be any docks left to moor. You and your brothers made sure of that.

“You’d make a good fisherman.”
